What are the ways in which monsoons affect oily, combination and dry skin?
Oily skin- Humidity in monsoon spells horror for people with oily skin and causes clogged pores and breakouts. Dry skin- Humidity can cause even more dryness for people with dry skin.
Combination skin- you can have areas in the T zone breaking out and yet at the same time dryness over the other areas of the faceWhat are the precautionary change in routine should one make according to their type of skin?
Apart from precautions, what are some of the major “dos” you would recommend in this climate for each skin’s daily routine?
Oily skin- your moisturizer should be lightweight and water based. Its best to go with lotions or serums for moisturisation. Wash face 2-3 times daily to wash away dirt, oil and grime that build up with humidity.
Dry Skin- You should use a creamy moisturizer that nourishes as your skin may seem drier. Do not wash more than 2 times a day as washing frequently will increase dryness.
Combination skin- A lotion or serum and water based moisturizer is apt for people *with combination skin. Wash your face twice daily.
What are the things one should avoid in monsoons in case oily, combination and dry skin?
Oily skin- do not go to bed without cleansing your face and removing makeupDo not use oil based creams that will clog your poresBe careful of using creams on the face that do not specifically ‘non –comedogenic’.

A few common tips that people must follow irrespective of skin type. Irrespective of the clouds and rains do use a sunscreen with SPF 30 or more, one that is non comedogenic and is broad spectrum that protects you against UV radiation.
Exfoliate once or twice a week to remove dirt and grime that settles with humidity.
Cleanse skin regularly twice a day as sweat and moisture in rainy season is a breeding ground for bacteria and infectionsHydrate plenty with enough water intake throughout the day.
