Use soap free, fragrance free body washes and cleansers to wash. Soaps strip more oil and fats from the skin that will make skin go dry

Use gentle allergen free detergents and washing powders for washing clothes that are meant for sensitive skin

Do use an emollient following a bath and atleast twice daily. This acts as a barrier and prevents evaporation of water

Use cotton clothes and materials that do not irritate skin

Keep your nails short so you are not tempted to scratch

Don’ts

Avoid stress which can aggravate the condition and cause flare ups.

Avoid wearing clothes like silk or wool which can irritate the condition further

Avoid using harsh detergents, perfumes, soaps and irritants on the skin. Avoid skin products with fragrance

Avoid scratching the skin lesions. This will lead t an itch-scratch cycle that is difficult to get out of and will only worsen the condition.
